On
the last Thursday of every month (except
December), the Club hosts a Trivia Quiz evening.
The quiz is devised and presented by a
professional quiz master Paul Goodall.
The quiz consists of 4 rounds of twenty
questions per round with a tie breaker at the
end if required. There is also a round which is
often famous faces which starts the evening.
Teams of between 2 and 6 players may enter with
an entry fee of $10 per team member. Get your
family and friends together and come and join
in.
The quiz is open to members and guests, please
remember to carry your membership card with you
and ensure that any guests joining your team are
signed in. We cannot pay out any prize money to
your team if you win unless your team is legally
entitled to be in the club. Checks are made as
teams register.
All monies collected on the night are paid out
in prizes with the teams who come first, second
and third being guaranteed a prize.
We also draw a number of consolation prizes at
the end of the evening, the more people the more
money and so the more prizes. Everyone is in
with a chance to win something – even if you
come last!
The quiz starts at 7:30pm in the lounge so you
should aim to be there by 7:15 so that you can
register your team and also start on your famous
faces round.
Be sure to check your newsletter (printed
available in the club and on the website
www.baysclub.co.nz) every month for the
quizmaster’s tip. The website and the club
notice boards always contain details of the
upcoming quiz approximately 2 weeks before the
event.
You do not have to be a brilliant quizzer to
come along for a fun evening, we look forward to
welcoming everyone to a quiz night very soon. We
have a lot of regulars but come along we are
sure you’ll be addicted after one attendance!

NEW FEATURE FROM SEPTEMBER
2011
Are you up to the Quizmaster Mastermind
Challenge? Present Paul with a subject
and the following month your team will
get 2 questions on that topic –
guaranteed to be slightly harder than
usual. Get both questions wrong and you
will get a point deducted from your
score as you will have crashed and the
quizmaster will have beaten you, get 1
out of 2 correct for 1 point, but get
both right and you will get a well
deserved 2 points. All other teams will
get 1 easier question on the same topic.
Can you repeat Liverton's success? If
anyone wishes to set a challenge for
Septembers quiz to be the first team
please email a subject to me no later
than 15th September at
bazandmaz@xtra.co.nz and I will pass
your chosen specialist subject to Paul.
